Whoa I've been missing out! Nice shots, everyone...thanks for contributing.

We rescued a baby squirrel and we're nursing it back and we're gonna give it to a wildlife rescue.

I believe it is the sharpest 24 you can get for Nikon. Not to mention, absolutely zero distortion. There are equally impressive lenses around this range, like the Zeiss 21, but the distortion may not be welcome for landscape/architecture use. Here are a few I took with the 24 - NOT wide open:

Went through the whole thread... all 11 pages. Wow, talk about generating lens lust. Lovely shots from all who participated here.

How is the minimum focusing distance on the lens? How is AF in low light situations? Are those who reported AF issues earlier in the thread still running into missing a few shots here and there?

Minimum focus is about 9 inches....very close. I think I have tried to get closer than I could once or twice since having the lens. AF issues IMO were way overblown. It is slower than most lenses but very accurate. I will say that the accuracy wide open is far better when shot at closer distance than infinity. At infinity when shooting wide open I have noticed that it back focuses ever so slightly. At higher f stops obviously not an issue. Unbelievable lens all around
