You guys are really making me ache to get my adapter for my Mamiya 120/4 to Sony. I have been neck deep in work after a slow first half of the year and by the looks of it I won't even have time to research the options and actually get my act together and get one - let alone get out and shoot with it - until mid november.

For some reason adapters to Sony are so expensive. I, too, want to shoot the Mamiya's on Sony but will have to settle using them on EOS and Nikon for now.

Yup, a straight converter is way too expensive at the moment - more than I paid for the lens itself. So unless they drop significantly in price I must resort to a two-adapter solution.

Very nice, Kent. Only a pity that the light on the bank is so harsh/blinding.

AhamB ... thanks.

I agree, I meant to talk to my "Assistant" about that, but I forgot to ask Him to tone it down a bit with better placement of one of His 'shoot through light modifiers'. Maybe next time I'll remember to speak to Him directly about what I want. All-n-all, He is VERY GOOD to work with.

Rusty,
you could crop that bright background out and still have a stellar shot with the rocks and leaves.

Jim,

Very interesting leaf photo. Is the leaf free-falling? Is it a 90deg rotation of a leaf laying on black velvet? A 180deg rotation of a leaf hanging from its stem (by an invisible cord)? Eh?

Jim,
good eye.I used a black piece of thread that i needled through the top of the leaf, and then i hung it from the ceiling with a thumb tack and then put a black poster board behind the leaf. You take what you get because the leaf will rotate ever so slowly.

I'm afraid I can't say the same. He constantly ignores me and radiates way too much sun on our already overcooked country.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

I really love the rendering quality from these lenses and when I saw that Jim was letting the 200/2.8 APO go that I couldn't resist picking it up. This lens is super sharp wide open.
Thanks Jim!

Here are few more from the 200/2.8 APO on the 5D @ 2.8, man this lens is sharp! It's taking me a little while to get used to this focal length. I'm loving the drawing style of these 645 lenses, I might have to see about adding a couple more
