. I previously had the sigma 50mm f1.4 with the 5DII, and AF did not work with 2 copies of this lens. I replaced it with the 50L then, but I am preferring the ZE 50f/1.4 now
That's quite the exact experience I had, I went from the Canon 50 f/1.4 to the 50L, back to the Canon 50 f/1.4, to the Sigma 50, back to the 50L, and now I'm planning on the ZE 50 f/1.4
I just can't find a 50mm that works right lol! Time to go manual focus!

charles.K,
When the Sigmalux 50mm worked properly, how did it compare to the 50 ZE?
freesole... The sigma 50 mm f1.4, is an excellent lens optically. I would almost err suggesting its better than the 50L. As a MF lens it is great. Just the AF did not communicate correctly with the 5DII. I am of the belief if you have and need AF, it needs to work reliably.
Please do that, Makten. Because every time you post one of your wonderful ZE 35 shots, it reminds me of the one that was stolen...:-( But I still have my ZE50, so posting that will be fine...:-)
Hey guys,
for months I would look at this thread with envy...
Finally, it is my turn to post a picture that was taken in my first hour with a Zeiss rental lens that I will soon be buying
