Samuli - I don't know what your interest is, but my favorite from Vienna was Otto Wagner's architecture.
abhijeeth - beautiful shot
Bob - Beautiful shots from Salzburg. You missed bicycles I know there is something about bicycle I am drawn to in NY. Unlike Europe, bikes in NY are beaten up like old mules. Quite a lot of them abandoned.
fracas - Wonderful set from Milan. Love the boat shot, also really like the theme of couples, ending with a couple of little flower plants. Very sweet, genuinely.
Thanks everybody, this thread is still growing on fast speed it seems.
Bob, thx for Salzburg images, enjoyed them but I think I don't want two cities to my fairly short trip, Vienna should be enough.

Akul, In Vienna itself my interest is on architecture (internal and external), statues etc. I think I have all of it well planned. Outside Vienna travelling with car I want to focus on landscapes. I would like to know how to plan the 3 days with car on western part (where the mountains are) so that I'll be in good locations when there is good light (if any at all, it may rain for whole 3 days). Also interested about viewpoints from where valley with morning fog can be photographed well.

Great images everyone. These were taken on the way out of Innsbruck north torward Germany.
Wow - that road I'm definitely going to drive, might be quite nice on sunrise, since there should be some fog as well. Thanks!!!!
I'll start to run out of images, and I can't post to image thread without posting image - my stupid principles...
(don't know is it just me not shooting/watching photos for 9 months or what but the colors seem unreal crisp & fresh and I actually didn't have to do anything, just import to Apple Aperture, add GPS data, export and sharpen in PhotoShop)
Bob!!! How dare you to sneak into Salzburg without telling me!?
I would have enjoyed taking you around. You are only excused by the fact that I was in the east of Austria (Neusiedlersee, Burgenland) for the last 8 days, and couldn't have met you anyway, what a pitty!
what is this sudden run on Austria all about?
Samuli, when are you coming? And how long are you staying?
I'd send you up Großglockner Hochalpenstrasse for mountainous landscape. From Fusch towards Heiligenblut, it goes up to 2.500 m. I need to think about a 3 days route. I'd spend one night up there, another one in Carynthia (Kärnten).
I am planing a trip to Wien during the next months, if you want I could shift it, so we can meet there. Send me a pm! I'd be very happy to show you some parts of Vienna I know, if you don't want to come to Salzburg.
Lars, Philippe, Samuli, Cyra, rwcs, dj thanks so much!
Philippe - Actually, my typical scene has been natural landscapes back in the states but this is the first time I've come across a scene like this to shoot in quite some time.
cyra - my apologies! This 'run' on Austria was part of a short holiday I had with my family. 5 days, 10 stops, 2300km driven through Germany and Austria!
abhijeeth -- Huh! I didn't want to go with the obvious. That seemed a little "drier" that the Hoh rain forest. I'm from Grays Harbor, and spent many a day up the Hoh and Quinalt. I'm seriously jonesing for a photo trip up to Olympic National Park.

Thanks for these hints - both look great options!

Well, it's not about want but about balance - I'm 90% landscape/nature shooter and since I'm going to be in Wien already 2 full photography days I really don't want to add anymore "city shooting" into this short trip (well rain will change things, I hope it will not rain). However since mountains are on Salzburg side of Austria I'll be around Salzburg and man got to eat and sleep so I might visit your city as well.

! To be more precise, this was taken on the road joining back to 101 from the Hoh visitor center. So spot on when you said this is drier than the Hoh rain forest.
You are from Grays Harbor - and spent many days up Hoh & Quinault? Not to mention the Pacific Coast? I envy you!
Boris : Many thanks. I am sure you will get some great images from your trip. August also will give you some access to some extra beautiful scenery. [Scenic mountain roads will be open then which are not so in May/June] - you may also have to deal and plan around the summer crowds. Feel free to email/PM if you want me to help you about the trip. Olympic National Park is like 5 parks in one, in terms of diversity, so hopefully you spend sufficient time there. And looks like Gunzorro also will know it very well :-)
Two more from Oly NP. 1st is in the Hoh Rainforest [from the small MP], where you can see trees resembling ghouls rising up from the ground after a long slumber!
2nd one [21mm] is from Lake Crescent which often draws comparisons to Lake Lucerne [Switzerland]. Beautiful place.
