From a day out with my new 50MP. I was not completely happy with the results in general, to be honest. They were sharp, but for some reason, I missed focus much more than I do with the ZF21 or 100MP, I don't really know why. Maybe I was relying on the focus dot too much? I also didn't find the rendering all that exciting in many shots, but it could have been the fault of the lighting. It was very sunny and very harsh.
I will probably end up posting another couple, but here is a first one:
Francesco, very good but not better than the color version or maybe i dreamed different for the bw version, maybe water need more light? As i said it's still very nice whatever i comment.

Thanks Uzay, but actually, I was keeping the harsh light shots for later. This one was taken in the shadow. There is harsh light on the other side of the street

Yeah i know but doesn't matter, it was not the best time of the day for good colors, right?
Right. The colours were often flat, the contrast too high, especially for Zeiss lenses which are already contrasty, and so on. But I think I should be able to find one good shot in the 80 I have kept so far

Uzay, here is a good example of what I was/am struggling with. I was expecting the boke in this shot to help me separate out the little tree from the background, but it is so unruly that it rather does the opposite. I am not sure if it is the light on the birches which kills it, or just that this isn't the right use for the 50MP.
I also find that although the result is sharp, it isn't 100% sharp, and for some reason, sharpening isn't reacting the way I am used to with the 100MP. I can't find the balance between not-sharp-enough and too-sharp. I keep thinking that I have got it, but on second look, I have over-sharpened. This might have something to do with the fact that I was having trouble focusing it right, and might have missed slightly. With the 100MP, I nail the focus most of the time. It is just so easy to focus.
I have read quite often that the 50MP is a mini-100MP, but for me, so far, nothing could be further from the truth. I am going to have to play a lot with this lens to understand what is going on, whereas I loved the 100MP from the first shot.

Lars - those shots are amazing. Great lighting and detail
carsten - Your 50MP shots look great. I still see quite a definition and separation. Your second series shows quite a strong separation. Second one is my fav.
