Managed to take a short road trip toward the Gifford Pinchot National Forest to get some darker skies. My first location which I remembered from an earlier photo was not working, but thanks to a surprisingly good LTE signal and a map I was able to find a second location with small body of water for my foreground. Still a bit of light pollution, but that ended up helping to define the hillside and reflection in to the lake.
Four shots blended together (three on a tracker, stacked for stars + one long exposure with the tracker off for the foreground). 50MM 1.4 (classic) Zeiss Planar ZE + Canon 5DIV.
50 Summilux M vs 50 Summilux SL (The SL won, it's a little sharper, transition between in and OOF is a little more pronounced and it's always in focus ....To bad its so heavy, the 50-m lux is a joy to use though, I have the 35 m- lux on the way to test against this Zeiss 1.4)
