SL with my CZ 35/1.4 Distagon

Nice. Is this the Classic, or the Milvus one?

35mm F1.4 Milvus is also of Distagon design. You can check in the product page.

Many of these lenses are of distagon design but only the classics included it in their name.

Milvus series does not reference the design.

My guess is that he is referencing the lens the way Zeiss does. I could be wrong.....

The Classic like Dave said...It's a really amazing lens with a special "look" ...and thankfully much smaller and 1/2 the weight as the Milvus.

Even easier is looking at the lens itself where Distagon is written on the front bezel!

Another with CZ35 on the SL...To me, this pic looks very 3D, like I plopped the family into the scene in PS. This is the "look" I was referring too. The transitions between in and out of focus are both abrupt but smooth. I used to love the Canon 50L for the same reason but this CZ is on a diffeent level. Does anyone own both the 35 Distagon and the Summilux? Besides the color, I wonder how differently they render. I have a 50 m-lux on the way and own the 50SL-Lux (currently) as well. I'm eager to see the difference. That said, after using this 35, it makes me want to at least try the CZ 50/1.5

Dave, That orange bell is popping out of my screen!

Ah, yes... I would've thought that way if I had the lens

I also have the Classic, and use it with my 10+ years 5DII. It seems that the lens is much sharper with the SL, and that's why I asked whether you refer to the Classic at the first place. Maybe it's time for me to upgrade my camera.
What I love from the Classic is its rendering and bokeh. I know that Milvus is generally better optically, but I wonder if Milvus has better bokeh.

Btw, some shots with 35mm F1.4 ZE Classic from me.

#1 is pretty darn cool, Matt. Like the variation in light across the arch.
