My error. The 'pod is 54", I have a Bogen leveling head and the Acratech long lens head on top - that gets it to 60". I had both heads on my old 2002 Report -

Since my birthday is so very close to Christmas, I just found out that I got (for my birthday) an Ee-s focusing screen. Just installed it and DAMN! I should have listened to you all a lot earlier

Well, santa (being me) got an cheapie Suntar 135 2.8, a SuperTak 55 1.8 and a handful of Fotodiox M42 to EOS adapters...All for waaaaaaay less than the GFs present (G11) and the boy's toys....maybe 75 bucks for all...

I received my Nikon Nikkor 300 f/4.5 EF IF replacement (for the earlier 300 f/4.5 (non-ED/IF). So far, it performs much, much better. Still has some CA, but far less than earlier. I took some pictures of the ducks in the river this morning and there was far, far less CA and color fringing.

I was thinking of your new lens today...wondering if you're pleased....glad to hear it's an improvement...good luck and good shooting with it....
