When will the next series start with the 2nd photo?

Zoom started the thread I suppose we should wait for him to give the word. I know we are all waiting with great shots to post

It would also be nice if we could get the mod to pin this sucker like over in Landscapes

Tim

I heard the moderator is a darn nice guy Tim, I bet he would

Thanks for the comments

Like Thang with his bobcats & coots, I think the predation behavior is some of the coolest to witness. Didn't get out much this year, but this was a "right place, right time" during this year's first rains of the wet season in Costa Rica. The forest comes to life that night- frogs copulating and laying eggs, tree snakes following closely behind to snack. If you're still curious - this shot is one of a larger series, of which you can check out on my website under the "Snake Eats Frog" section.

Looking forward to more pics here and/or in the Pt II thread!

I love this thread! I did not have a lot of time this year to get out and shoot wildlife so i thought it would be easy to pick a fav... but it wasn't.

This is one of my favorites for several reasons but mostly because it was my best outing all year. I was on a buisness trip and spent my free time at a local wildlife area. Even though Karl stood me up, (just kidding buddy) I had two or three really good days of shooting one of my favorite subjects GBH.

Nice work everyone and Merry Christmas

OK I'm having a really hard time choosing in between these three..... So just live with it..... I just can't choose in between my "babies"

Back in February I managed to catch this when Garen dashed off to his car....

Then in June I managed to catch this one when Tim or Jay was visiting I believe....

Then in November I got this while out shooting with Stephen....

Lil, they are all good shots but I'm loving the Wood Duck. That is a super sharp image, with beautiful colors and an interesting subject. Morevover, he has those wings spread and is upright in the water, making for a great pose. Exposure is right on, as well. Of these three shots, he gets the "Best of your Best" vote from me.

How on Earth did I miss this thread? I don't believe there is a more talented group of people anywhere on the net, than on this forum. (Also, the reason I didn't jump in for such a long time) This level of work is so uplifting and inspiring. Something to strive for...

This picture of “coyote mousing” was part of a wildlife camera discussion in the Canon forum last week. It was shot in Yellowstone last month. A coyote leaps up over tall grass, and pounces down on a field mouse, in order not to hit the grass and give an audible warning. The coyote is often relatively still, then suddenly explodes forward and then abruptly stops.

On the contrary, I find this thread terribly depressing and demoralizing. I realize now that I have a very high ladder to climb and I've still got one foot on the ground! And then I get inspired and motivated to do better and it gives me a point of reference. I will get there, eventually.

I know what you mean. You're farther along in your journey than I am, I have both feet on the ground just looking up at the ladder. I believe there is no "there", it just goes ever higher and higher...
