When I started wildlife photography in 2005 I had the ambition of taking one really exceptional shot, I haven't managed this yet. One way I will know when I've achieved my aim is when I don't even have to think about which shot to post on this thread!
Below is not my best image from 2009, but it is one that is full of memories of an extraordinary experience for me. In September my wife and I were on safari in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, one night whilst out on a drive we came across 5 lionesses, just as we drew level one sped of into the dark and it was obvious she had seen potential prey. A puku (an antelope) was her target, somehow it evaded her initial attack but made the fatal decision to run back the way the lioness has come. Unknown to the puku, her sisters were in waiting. The hunt took just seconds, but during the chase both the puku and a lioness collided with the side of the stationary jeep we were observing from. This was a completely open sided / open topped vehicle and to say it was scary being so close to a charging lioness doesn't come close! One of the greatest adrenaline rushes of my life, it was all I could do to remember to pick up the camera and take some shots of the aftermath!

Wing man, you can change your pic every other day or so and still technically have only one posting Hmmmm....Maybe that's what I'll have to do since I can't pick only one LMAO
