so you own the new version and the c/y? that's cool! Have you compared them by doing the same shots side by side? I guess, many people will be interested in that. Or have you just borrowed the c/y?
Hi Cyra ....I now own the new ZE ...and I have a customer of mine who has the C/Y, whom has graciously told me I can borrow it anytime!! I tried it once, and liked it very much, and will do so again....but maybe because of the shots I took with it, I didn't notice a huge difference. But they weren't side by side either!!
I would really love an MMJ version, but the prices are ridiculous on Ebay right now ....and I already have the ZE....so I'm pretty happy right now!
- first i choose the crop, usually 70-100% of the picture. (I like the squared format.)
- increase the exposure, decrease the highlights
- increase shadows
- increase contrast
- decrease the very dark colors (make black black)
with lightroom (since 3 month) i also have the chance to use selective sharpening, which was done on both pictures. Also a post-crop vignette helps to focus on the middle of the picture.
however, when you decrease the file size then do also re-sharpen a bit at the very end - that helps a lot.
There is a nice book of "David duChemin" (Vancouver). That book is relatively expensive, but he brings it to a point: "white must be white and black must be black" !! really good book!
