Apparently it will be a 35/1.2 for Canon users, very exciting indeed.

When?

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

I am in the S.F. bay area. Yes, the Monterrey/BigSur coastline is beautifuI stretch along highway 1. I need to take a trip up north and see some of the beautiful areas up north in Western Canada.Want to do some skiing up there at Whistler/Blackcomb.

I like the color of blue on the light posts in your 2nd shots rendered by the Rokinon.
Hope you get some better weather to shoot in.

Wayne, if you want to hit up Whistler/Blackcomb, this is the year. People are avoiding the hills thinking that the Olympics will make them too busy, combined with the economic slowdown so they are offering big discounts.

Thanks, that's good to know. Have to look into planning it soon.

The sun came out yesterday a little so I took my son and my Samyang down to the waterfront.

This lens continues to impress me.

Thanks guys. I have been considering posting it one of the '3D' threads, as I really feel it qualifies...

Here are a couple more anyways:

It seems there are different version / name badges regarding this lens. Samyang, Rokinon, Phoenix, Bower & ?? Vivitar, etc.

Is the Vivitar the same lens or something entirely different, as there seems to be a price differential between names?

Is this a 'one trick pony' ... or something much more ??

I believe the consensus is that they are all one in the same, despite differing price points.

In the US, try overstock.com... I believe it will qualify for a Bing rebate as well.

No, it's about 1 meter.
Definitely not as close as I'd like, but about the same as the CZ 85/2.8 Sonnar.

I realize that optics is always an issue of compromises & trade-off's ... but 10 feet would have been crazy.

Thanks

1 meter's pretty common for non-macro lenses in this range.
