In according to globalkiwi - NO critics allowed here, so either say sorry and delete this words or say "NICE SHOTS" asap ...

Did you actually read what I wrote?! I didn't say that AT ALL. Twice, I emphasised the need to be critical - but also civil. Not much point trying to have a dialogue if you're going completely distort everything to suit yourself.

I could say same to you; do you care about freedom of speech at all? Who actually authorized you to moderate my words? What do you mean civil and could you provide any word I said non-civil? Besides all I said that shots are not impressive to me or maybe 2-3.

Thanks lowbone, or whatever, my pics in the thread were not posted to compete with Ruhikant, sorry you and your handholding pals think they were

lowbone or whatever, it is people like you and your attitude that define the word boring, as well as bring Canon sales down. Who would want to be associated with the likes of you in any way?

Wow. And they say this forum is not like DPReview. I guess it's the same everywhere.

What are you *talking* about?! No one's censoring you. My initial email wasn't even directed at you! Either you're excessively paranoid or you're deliberately misrepresenting what I said to try & make yourself into some kind free-speech crusader. Good luck with that. This has rapidly become a dialogue of the deaf & I'm not going to waste my time perpetuating it.

That is exactly means you are trying to escape direct answer been asked. Read what you are posting here and you will get an idea what I mean.

A day later and they still look in focus to me. Guess I'm going blind.

Granted the mallard (?) shots don't show much detail in the neck and torso feathers, but isn't that because the feathers are so small and fine? Where should I be looking to see that these aren't in focus? I really want to know.

Small web images will not see much of the details also you need to know the exact AF point.

100% cropped near the red AF point. Remember it is not stationary shot with tripod mounted, but handheld shot tracking a fast flying duck.

Between crass name calling, rudeness and ignorance (often combined with arrogance), obsessive focus on gear acquisition and future releases babble, this forum seems to be sliding downhill perhaps slowly but probably securely.

A man comes along to show his results with a new camera without any pretense whatsoever, seems quite open to having a civil discussion of those results, both pro's and con's, and this is what we get. That doesn't look good at all.

A most common image post feedback on most wildlife/bird photography forums:

" A great capture, buddy. : "

How true this is, and I'm afraid that it is a very (but not entirely) N American attitude. I look at many photographic forums, where my interest is almost entirely bird photography, and get totally sick and tired of seeing "amigos" posting mediocre images with the usual tirade of "great images, fantastic series, thanks for sharing". It is so insincere and ingenuous as to be insulting. If people post images then they should be prepared to take HONEST criticism and not expect to receive responses which in Europe we call "Sugar-coated Turds". There is also a Dutch guy on here who seems to reply to every nature shot with the same "Great images there......." - he has thousands of them, all almost identical, which make no contribution whatsoever to the posts. The images on his own website leave, how shall I say, "a lot to be desired".

Americans love to apply the word "rude" when, in fact, they are some of the rudest people on this planet - some self-reflection and earthy honesty is more the order of the day. This is truly not an anti-Yank rant, but I do often wonder what "have a good day" really means!!

If photos are not perfect (and few are - it is possible to criticise almost any image), then why not say so without being branded as someone "pi$$ing on the parade"? I really do not understand this mentality.

PetKal, or whatever pet food, yes, I have heard from you before, why don't you be a man as well as fair, and recognize that I have not made any statement that is deragatory to anyone here except to the 2 fools who have attacked me. Try reading the posts above.

I am sure the OP is mature enough to read and understand that I made no statement against his work nor him, but instead tried to discuss his statement about the 7D focus failing. His work was recognized.

In contrast, my work, me personally, etc, were lambasted.

And now you come along, again. Why not get a life, PetBoi.

From what I am seeing there are a lot of losers here. I will be dumping my 30D and Canon gear asap and forget about being part of the Canon fan and owner club.

BTW, thanks for showing me the light.

PetBoi, just made a call to a photog friend and sold my 70-200 f4L, and 400mm F5.6L, one good thing about Canon gear is that it is easy to dump.

See you in another forum, hopefully not.

Again great response, "honesty" is a problem in US I guess. That is causing politics and talks and as result giving wrong information to the shots owners. I know many cases when because of "NICE SHOTS" responses people start thinking they are already Picaso of photography and no less ... They keep posting this cra. anywhere and expecting "NICE SHOTS" in response.
Also, you are right about word rude, in most cases that is one who did posted this word is rude.
