Granted I may have missed it in this 49 (!) page thread, but is there any mention in the 7D rumored specs that it includes micro-focus adjust? I don't seem to recall hearing that yet...
I do not remember seeing it mentioned here or on other sites.
the rumored specs of the rumored 7D looks good to me, the cameras keeps getting better and better, i have owned 300D, 10D, 20D, and 40D, i am ready for a new upgrade.
i dont understand all the negativity, you have to remember that canon inc is a business, if they made the ultimate camera that everyone wants today, what will they come up with tomorrow?
incremental improvements so you keep coming back for more.

I'm with you Pierre. I would even venture to say that if most of the complainers were running Canon, Minolta would have bought them out a couple years ago.

hiii ... that's why they don't need to make any announcements in china. from china, everything is leaked to the world!
Leak of information can be a business tactic.
I think you are right on this. They probably planned this, so that when D300s hit the shelf, we get the leak from Canon 7D. Fewer people switch to Nikon.
business is war without bloodshed, like politics.
jap business strategists are schooled in Sun Tze's art of war. http://www.artofwarsuntzu.com/america_experiences_sun_tzu.htm
in times of bloodless war (as in fierce business competition), it's important not to trust everything you read and see. what you have been led to percieve could be a deception. on the other hand, it may not be. truth, half-truths and untruth are lumped together to create confusion.
but intelligence gathering is important. yes, it's all very complex and can be extremely stressful but thank goodness it's peaceful!!
Are there going to be many disappointed people if there's no annoucement tomorrow? (Just thought I had to write something on this thread. Didn't want to eb the only person not to...)
wonders how people took pictures in the old days before Autofocus,in camera metering,IS,...? Its seem everyone wants the camera to do everything now for them, doesnt this take the beauty out of Photography. Not saying these are not useful items I personally couldnt live without A/F due to bad eyes but Cmon
the metering/AF/IS works as it should or to the best that Canon could make it
for a mass produced item to ne enjoyed by all..sure Canon could take a luxuary
route like a Rolls royce and make the 10th the amount of cameras but they would
cost 10x they do now...then you all would complain about a 20k body...
Hoax, guy on POTN made it just to show how stuff gets taken from one forum and becomes "truth" on another, theres one board in another language that has it as "photo leaked from high source at Canon"

1D Mks I II and IIn and 1Ds Mks I & II had 45 selectable AF points, but not many cross types (don't know the exact number, sorry)
1D Mk III and 1Ds Mk III had the brand new (and now infamous) system with 'only' 19 selectable points, all x-type
Thanks for the clarification. Honestly, since I only use center, focus recompose, unless I had heard how many focus points my cameras had so many times (from people saying about the ancient 9pt system), I wouldn't know how many even my own had.
See for you guys, it's the dinosaur age 9 pt system...for me it's the 1 pt system :P I'm really looking forward to these new offerings. At the very least, I may be able to sneak into a 1dmk2N or 1dmk3 when all of this comes out.

This is wrong on so many levels, it's ridiculous. Technology marches on, the base level for cameras steps up. Once another company shows that it's possible to produce a full frame camera, with serious autofocus, and a range of other useful features for photographers, for less than $2500 (that's the Nikon D700, by the way) then Canon has to compete in the same ballpark. Giving us one good AF point (in the center) and 8 very-iffy AF points in a poor spread is no longer good enough, not for the money they are charging. Nikon offers a serious low-light machine, which also happens to do the business for sports, portraits, landscape and event photography, for less than the price of a 5D2. Canon would sell a ton of that sort of camera.
Yeah, in the old days it was a rare skill to be able to follow focus with a long telephoto. Nowadays, it's expected. If the photog next to you has a camera that can do this, and you do not, then you are no longer competitive. Doesn't matter what was way back when. This is now.
My 40D has better autofocus on the outer points than my 5D2, which costs 2.5 times as much. That's just not right. Yeah, yeah, the 5D2 has 21 megapixels, which is a whole lot more than most of us really need. I would bet that many 5D2 owners would have preferred a 16 megapixel camera with great autofocus over what Canon came up with. Am I alone in saying that if all my Canon lenses mounted on a D700 that I'd own at least two of 'em?
It's the cost of switching systems when one owns a lot of lenses that allows Canon to get away with the stuff it does on the xxD, xD, and 1D series lines.

People, you need to get a grip. This has got to be the most out of control rumor thread here ever.
Why? There is nothing wrong with harmless rumour and supposition.
Yes some people will be disappointed come Tuesday but that was always going to happen anyway. Join in and build your dream 1DMkIV since everyone else is.

Randy, a lot of people will have a heart attack if this isn't released tomorrow...
I have been waiting to see what got released to make my decision on a new camera. A 1.6 crop camera hadnt entered my mind, it was MK2N, MK3, MK4, D2MK2, or a 5D2. All have plusses and minuses.
Then this 7D rumor came along, I am hoping it was cover for the MK4, but if it is real I might consider it at 1.6 (or 1.45, the new rumor) after some people try it out. If its 1.3 Ill get one.
As for lurking on the 7D threads, Im a golfer with a bad hand, I got LOTS of time to kill as I prepare to get back into photography.
