I hate that modern cameras don't go down to ISO 50 or 25 like they used to.
Most MFB's still do.
I use ND's quite a lot for outdoor shooting to get the F stop I want to use. I just ordered the
Vari-ND Filter from Singh-Ray, I hope/expect it will give me more flexibility.

most canon higher end has iso50 option. but you'll love that Vari-ND. being able to go from 2stops to 8stops is great. I use it often outside to shoot between f1.2-f2.8.
Unfortunately not. I have an article for a photography magazine to finish and three customer websites in final stages of completion. And some design work for a brochure.

was it a sign?!?
I'm thinking they'll marry quite nicely with my Novatron heads with their built-in reflector.
Novatron heads have rather narrow beam reflector so it will not fill the PLM well. You could put a diffuser (like umbrella nylon) on the front of the head to disperse the beam and fill the PLM.
1) I'm disappointed with the stitching at the centre of the black covers for the white PLM's.
Instead of finishing in a metal ring that fits over the outside back rear of the umbrella shaft, or being completely stitched together, they finish in a sort of stitched circle that is already starting to come loose with the tension of some minimal usage.
2) The white front diffusers should have velcro to keep them on, like the Softlites do. Instead they sit just tightly enough to hang in place during in-door use, but not tight enough to stay in place outdoors in a very light breeze.
So- compared to the Softliters, better light design, better ribs, but poorer real world useage design and manufacturing, leading to a product that is less useful outdoors (if you want to use silver + diffuser), and looking likely to unwravel in one spot (if you use white + backing).
The fit and finish are vendor deviations from approved samples. We're working on improvements and possibly another vendor. But this will take some time.
We have manufactured 500 Cyber Commanders as of a couple of weeks ago. Firmware is still in debugging. Fortunately, firmware is user upgradable via the Micro SD card. No particular problems, but this is a very complex device. We get near daily reports from the firmware developers, usually consisting of "this thing should be ready real soon." So I'm not going to issue any firm dates until it's functioning to my satisfaction.
