The white diffuser has been quite improved and I believe is now shipping. Check with customer service.
Version two goes well beyond this improvement and will make evenness across the diffuser much improved, as well as focusability of the PLM and on-axis mounting for Buff/Balcar mounts and Elinchrom mount, with no shaft protrusion. V2 should be available in 4-6 weeks.

On V2, the 7mm portion is solid rather than hollow and only extends a short distance. There is also a speedring mounting method for Buff and Elincrom that places PLM on-axis and eliminates the 7mm shaft entirely and eliminates shaft protrusion out the back of the light.
No cost increase anticipated. Shipping anticipated in 4-6 weeks.

Sounds like what Profoto has been doing for years on their Giant Reflectors. Always wondered why no-one else was doing it that way.
Losing the shaft coming out of the back of the light is a good safety feature. I'll get one of these speedring mounts and convert it to Profoto for this reason.

been waiting on this update before I purchase the big PLM. I'll be checking back in 4-6wks for sure!

FWIW, you can place an order and have them hold it. I just did this not 10 minutes ago as essentially a pre-order for the new PLMs. I've got 2 new PLMs with 2 new diffusion fabrics on order and they will contact me when they are ready. Lady said I will probably get a call in April (< 4 weeks) to confirm the order and charge my card (and ship). I hope!

Well - they should be there at all - ordered one in early March - on the Website from paulcbuff australia it says they're "CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER UNTIL MID APRIL - ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS" so I hope they will arrive soon...

No, not yet. They're out of stock everywhere. I'm very lucky to find Scott (scottyg) selling his. It should be in my hands by Monday.
I know the Einsteins have top priority right now so we have to wait. But what I'm afraid of is the new PLM v2s selling out just as quickly as the PLM v1s did. I remember taking too long to decide whether I should buy one when I had B800s and ended up with nothing as they went on back order. Haha. When v2s come out, I won't hesitate.
