No, not yet. They're out of stock everywhere. I'm very lucky to find Scott (scottyg) selling his. It should be in my hands by Monday.
I know the Einsteins have top priority right now so we have to wait. But what I'm afraid of is the new PLM v2s selling out just as quickly as the PLM v1s did. I remember taking too long to decide whether I should buy one when I had B800s and ended up with nothing as they went on back order. Haha. When v2s come out, I won't hesitate.
There is no time division between Einstein and PLM V2. Our excellent China molder/tool and die/metal work vendor has hired an engineer with umbrella experience to get my designs properly translated to high quality and accurate products. The China umbrella companies themselves are poor at design work and keep sending us samples that don't meet my specs . . . we've been through three of them so far . . . the same vendors that supply B&H and most other lighting manufacturers. The first one pirated our V1 designs . . . that's where to knockoffs come from. V2 will have patents filed to keep the copycats away.
I am expecting new samples in a few days and will see how good a job the engineer does. As soon as I am satisfied with the final product we should be able to make as many as customers can order in short time.
White PLMs are easy to make and not very shape-dependent. But the silver versions use highly reflective fabrics and control of the shape and geometry is crucial to optimal performance. This is what has slowed the process down.
Once we start producing these we will make several thousand, so there should be any need to compete for position. My vendor reported last night he had samples but was not satisfied with the frame dimensions and is making new samples today. Hopefully we will get then this week.
