Geez, i had to go by a new monitor just to view these nice big photos Antman
These are great ant 0 noise reduction, thats impressive, as far as the compression thingy, i quit using the upload feature here because it was doing something funky with my images, they looked different once on this site, compression factor probably, so now i just link from my site and they seem fine, anyways great job on these buddy.
Alan
Thanks for the info on the compression. My images are linked and I'm not sure what happened. I look at them off my HD and they're fine > But those two images look funny when viewed downloaded on pbase.
Appreciate the kind comment Alan and I'm really sorry about your monitor
Send Karl the bill

Seems like the egrets are having a "bad hair day" as well!
Nice sharp well expose shots.
How do you find the 5D Mk 11's burst mode - is it fast enough for those special action moments like when a heron grabs a fish out of the water.
As for Adobes policy, I too am fed up and am looking for new RAW converter. I know the ACR Bridge workflow is nice but its not worth to keep upgrading and all the related headaches for just a RAW converter support.

I know you asked Ant but I also have the 5D2 and 1Dm3 and can say it lacks in the speed of a action shot like a heron fishing, Better off just doing the movie of that with the 5D2. Ron
Anthony, do I have a deal for you...
I'll sell you my CS3 serial number for $300, You sell me your 5DMKII for $500. You now have a cash influx of $200 which makes up for the $200 you'll NEVER get back from Adobe.
And when I put on my polarized shades, these all look great!
I also use CS3, but I have LR2 (which reads the CR2 files from the 5D2). I process my RAWs in LR2 and move them over for post to CS3.
Now, I can hardly wait. I ordered the CS4 upgrade from Adobe but I am pretty sure that I also bought my version of CS3 on eBay. At least I know what I have to look forward to!
Hot series Antman!
Sorry to hear about your woes with Adobe; yeah I feel real sorry for you buddy - 5D MkII, 800/5.6
I had a similar problem when I got my P&S Panasonic LX3 and yeah I'm with you on DPP, that program bites big time. I had been using Lightroom 1.x and CS3 so I just upgraded to Lightroom 2. It's pretty much like ACR and allows me to bring the newer files into CS3.
Beautiful images from your new combo though man.
Great exposure control and detail on these birds and for first outing with the new body, I can tell you are going to have some fantastic images from the setup.
These are really, really and really nice Ant.
Super pics with really, really, really nice action, detail and colors.
REALLY
Hope you get a REAL copy of PS soon
Martin
I read somewhere that raw 5D2 files can be converted to dng with older versions of CS or Bridge and then opened in CS3. Anybody know if that works?
Bert
These are great shots. My top picks - #2, 5, 6 and 7. Super poses and love the detail. (#6 cracks me up!)
I just got a 5D and hadn't realized that CS3 would not read the files. But I am almost exclusively using Lightroom 2 these days and they work fine there. FYI.
Every time I see your results with the 800, it makes me want one. But --- oh --- lotsa' money!!!
Again - nice job on these. Hope you get things resolved with Adobe - or try LIghtroom.
