Wonderful photos Anthony. Have you tried the free Adobe DNG converter? You don’t need to upgrade. The download is on the right side of this page:

Seems like the egrets are having a "bad hair day" as well!
Nice sharp well expose shots.
How do you find the 5D Mk 11's burst mode - is it fast enough for those special action moments like when a heron grabs a fish out of the water.
As for Adobes policy, I too am fed up and am looking for new RAW converter. I know the ACR Bridge workflow is nice but its not worth to keep upgrading and all the related headaches for just a RAW converter support.
Hey Mabidally
I'd much prefer my 10 fps of the Mark III for action shots
I really would miss a lot just using the 5 D II
I've been using the 5 D II and EF 800 on the Tripod
And the Mark III with EF 500 on my neck
I agree with the Adobe Comment. Seems like a constant flow of money just for support of the latest camera's. Seems a bit ridiculous.
thanks for the feedback on the images Mabidally > I do appreciate your comment

I know you asked Ant but I also have the 5D2 and 1Dm3 and can say it lacks in the speed of a action shot like a heron fishing, Better off just doing the movie of that with the 5D2. Ron

Anthony, do I have a deal for you...
I'll sell you my CS3 serial number for $300, You sell me your 5DMKII for $500. You now have a cash influx of $200 which makes up for the $200 you'll NEVER get back from Adobe.
And when I put on my polarized shades, these all look great!
Hey now that's a Deal I can't refuse
You really know how to drive a hard bargain Girl
Adjust your monitor > No shades needed, You've been listening to Chad (AKA THE DH)

Ant, these shots are beautiful and very detailed.
I also use CS3, but I have LR2 (which reads the CR2 files from the 5D2). I process my RAWs in LR2 and move them over for post to CS3.
Now, I can hardly wait. I ordered the CS4 upgrade from Adobe but I am pretty sure that I also bought my version of CS3 on eBay. At least I know what I have to look forward to!
Super job on those whites, Ant!
Dave
Hey David
First thanks for the update with your shooting of the 5 D tonight. I appreciate that.
Good luck with the ADOBE refund ............ You'll get it, but they're in no hurry to PART with your Hard Earned Dollar.
thanks and look forward to your bird shots .......... Coming SOOOooon

Hot series Antman!
Sorry to hear about your woes with Adobe; yeah I feel real sorry for you buddy - 5D MkII, 800/5.6
I had a similar problem when I got my P&S Panasonic LX3 and yeah I'm with you on DPP, that program bites big time. I had been using Lightroom 1.x and CS3 so I just upgraded to Lightroom 2. It's pretty much like ACR and allows me to bring the newer files into CS3.
Beautiful images from your new combo though man.
Great exposure control and detail on these birds and for first outing with the new body, I can tell you are going to have some fantastic images from the setup.
Thanks for your sympathy Jay I need it.
DPP SUX thanks for that too
I may have to check out lightroom as everyone keeps talking about it
I may try a trial and see what it's all about
Glad you liked them and thanks for the feedback on exposures and PP

Super pics with really, really, really nice action, detail and colors.

Hope you get a REAL copy of PS soon

Ant -
I'm with you on the Adobe-hater bandwagon. They have us on a perpetual upgrade path just for the raw converter. There are so many stories of people having problems, even a simple upgrade or installation on "legal" copies.
I tried the DNG route myself a while back, but found it to be a very inconvenient and clumsy work-around.
That being said, I'm glad that you are able to work with a current version of CS to be able to work with your new files. Just seeing these early "trial" images was a treat.
See you this weekend?

Double wow is right! Looks like the combo is perfect...or you make it look that way! Beautiful work, all of them.
Wow thanks
I really like the combo
Between the 5 D II and 800 on tripod
and Mark III with 500 hanging around my neck
I feel ready for most wildlife coming my way

I read somewhere that raw 5D2 files can be converted to dng with older versions of CS or Bridge and then opened in CS3. Anybody know if that works?
Bert
These are great shots. My top picks - #2, 5, 6 and 7. Super poses and love the detail. (#6 cracks me up!)
I just got a 5D and hadn't realized that CS3 would not read the files. But I am almost exclusively using Lightroom 2 these days and they work fine there. FYI.
Every time I see your results with the 800, it makes me want one. But --- oh --- lotsa' money!!!
Again - nice job on these. Hope you get things resolved with Adobe - or try LIghtroom.
Thanks for the comment and picks. Good for you on lightroom. I may have to try it
The 800 is expensive. But so worth it IMHO. I really like that extra focal length and
improved IS.
Thanks for commenting and nice to see your popping in every once in awhile
