On the front of my contract where it tallies up the rate/deposit/travel/etc., I also included the word deposit... now it says, "Retainer".

Now why didn't my attorney pick up on this deposit vs retainer? He reviewed all my contracts, but never picked up on this? What is up with that?

Because it is not viewed the same in every jurisdiction......most importantly, there are VERY few attorneys on this site.

I use "Booking Fee" like some others. This fee is for me to 'write in my books' that I have a wedding to photography on whatever date
