Canon can produce a 250mm f/2.0 glass (shares the same entrance pupil diameter of the 500/4) but it would cost around $9,500.00 (in today's money) vs Zuiko's $4,300 (late 70s & 80s money).
Makes you wonder how much of a margin Canon is making per long lens.

Psychic1 1st owl: outstanding; more texture than plaster of Paris. Wallhanger, or maybe canvas behind some tweaky potentate's desk. The 3rd one was well worth the time too; such composition all too rare. The lens works a treat for that one.

Nice! By breathing apparatus I'm assuming headers/intake or...forced induction *gasp*! I've always loved Chevy's LS series V8s. IMO the true definition of American muscle.

Thank you. I find that shots that I am sure I have missed due to movement by me or the subject are often captured. While IS doesn't help with subject movement :^), somehow this lens just works. I like all aspects of what it does but I don't enjoy the weight.
