I'll be dropping into B&H next month. Maybe it'll still be there and I can absorb some 1200mm ambience. Interesting to see that it's listed in the "catch all" $250 to $120,000 price range.

Ya I ended up selling it to B&H. My sherpa's back finally broke and there's no way I'll carry the 1200mm around. Hopefully it finds a new good home out there somewhere.

1200mm, I wish surely miss you

But, now what do I spend the $ 100k that I got out of it on?

$1200 per 100mm -- that's pretty expensive. I thought i saw this in the b&s forum, not many takers tho

The review has some FL comparison examples; fun to look at comparing 24mm to 1200mm.

From the review:
"Using a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III, faces were recognizable at distances up up to a mile or more."

Lensrentals considered it. Then figured out what the weekly rental and shipping would be and decided people would rather buy a 300 f2.8 IS than rent the 1200.

I only have one engineering degree...but 1200mm/100mm = 12*$1200 = $14,400
