p.87 #1 · 400mm is "getting" sharp enough!

I went from 3+ to 5+ on my 400mm seems to be work better. Most people are missing the point of the Micro-Adjust. When I put a lens on my 50D( or the new 1D bodies with MA) I can adjust it to the workings of my specific camera, each new lens. The lens may or may not have issues on other camera. It doesn't matter because it can be adjusted perfectly with the MA to be the best pairing automaticlly with a few fast tests, then stay correct as long as it is on the camera...I hear people all the time say "there is nothing wrong with my lens, until you tried it. "They are right , maybe, but I can make their lens work better. I found my 70-200mm f/4L IS doesn't need adjusting, so far that is the exception...Rich

Nice Hummingbird shots Rich! Love the colors. And thanks for the ISO tip! Seem to be getting less noise now. My 70-200 f2.8 did not need any microadjust either. My 400mm gets a +7 before it gets tack sharp. Hehe..

The other way is to join the forum itself. I think its $24 a year. I can't remember. But if you put up your pictures on a free site like photobucket or something, then you can link the url to your post. Good luck!

That is the key to otter shots....They shine to much in the sun.. The no shadows make for great color...using RAW? Good birds..too much light eats up color..
