That's a sharp 70-200 f/4 IS there, Michael.
It is not bad - my third copy
I wish Canon released 400 f/5.6 with IS that 70-200 f/4 has. You can always switch IS off if you do not need it.

The lad will have a bird for sure.
Let us see his squirrel shots.......perhaps a flying one in action.
Oh my god... you guys crack me up!!! I didn't actually get a chance to see all the shots that have been put up. MY GOD!!! So many squirrels and other rodents. Fat ones, lazy ones, hungry ones. Haha!!!! Great thread!
I tried to see if my squirrel would fly, but he just sat there. I'm embarrassed even putting him up haha!!!

Is this a private party or can anyone join?
No private party n0b0. Its open for everyone to show what they can do with the 400mm so those of us who don't really know how to use it, that's not me anymore of course hehe..., can learn tips and techniques that they could use!

I was considering sell my 400 5.6 for extra $$, but then I started shooting lots of BIF photos. Except, the wings never seem to flap much.

I'd say you had a very productive day, Conrad. Beautiful landscape shots, pebble stone sculpture, a pelican in flight and a great surf action to boot.
I tried to make the most of my weekend and keep the shots as interesting as I could! The pelican flying could have been better, but the mature ones were just too far away to get a good shot. The surfers were up close for sure. And they were constantly moving which presented a great challenge for me! The landscape and stone sculptures were done out of boredom haha! But thanks!
Hey Wing, did you get this squirrel in Palo Alto? Very nice! I only got a couple pelicans, a few surfers and some landscape stuff this weekend. Pretty bad for 2 days out up and down the central coast.
