Well I posed a question over there just now, maybe I should just post it up there anyway and catch the fallout in stride.
Well, you might as well wait until tomorrow and see if you get any responses, there's a one post rule on the N+W board, you might get dinged for a second post after your owl post. I got subtly reminded by a member one time.
If you don't have any responses yet for your owl post, you can delete it and post your seagull kill and repost your owl tomorrow. In any case, 2 posts a day isn't the end of your membership here.

Damn I didn't know about that rule. I guess I should read the rules.
Well someone just replied to the owl. Double Damn!
Personally I see nothing wrong with the "kill" posts, it happens, it's nature. I do think it was wrong to throw rocks at the gull and for other bystanders to try and help. Let nature take its course...

Anyway, they were some great shots!
I guess you're right. Funny how folks always favor the underdog (including me).
I had absolutely no idea that a gull could/would do that. But you're right, it's nature -- the animals don't just sit around looking pretty, they've got to survive too. I grew up watching nature shows with a lot of graphical footage like this so don't find it too shocking, although it's always sad to see the little ones get hurt.
...and an update on my bird feeder/perch. I've moved it about 8 feet further from the house so a total of about 18' from that window behind it where I will be taking photos. My 400mm was too long when the perch was only 10' away. I can also set up outside near the steps on the right side. I've also changed the perch and added more feeding stations - 2 seed feeders and 1 suet feeder. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3602/3503501898_aef38b5dec.jpg
This is what the camera looks towards, so pretty green stuff: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3394/3503501686_eeed8b8c94.jpg

Thank you Todd. The 400mm is pretty good alright! Also it has forced me to get out there and walk for miles almost everyday. I think ove lost weight! Haha!
Looks like we lost the rest of the troop on this thread, where are our regulars?? Everyone must be burnt out or are having withdrawal symptoms... Maybe Noelle's scared away by the fierce competition, tossing in the towel?
