Time to juggle my gear collection again, as I do monthly. These were originally FT only; now FS.
I'm looking to trade the M8 for a 5DII.
The Leica M8 is like new in box with every piece of original accessory, firmware 2.0. About 3000 actuations -- I bought it here about a month ago from user davidriver and put about 2k on it in the intervening time. Except for a very faint mark on the top, an extremely light scratch on the plastic cover and a "bump" in the leatherette near the USB door, and a tiny scratch on LCD, it is in practically new condition. All the marks have been presented in the photos but are hard to tell when you hold the camera. Needless to say, the camera is optically and mechanically perfect (focus has been verified with a 28 Elmarit, a 28 Summicron, and a 35 Summilux). $2700 or straight trade for a 5DII
28mm Summicron, 28mm Elmarit, and 1D Mark II now sold!
Email or PM is fine. As you can see, I have done a lot of business here on FM, all of it trouble-free. Deals local to Austin, Texas are welcomed. Thanks for looking!
saturday bump..giving thought to trade on m8, why are you willing to let this body go? image issues? file size? flexibility? i've not used m8, just m6's w/ 35mm f2 and want to try m8.

No image issues, and the file size is fine for my purposes, hdfxr3. When it comes down to it, I just need to focus on one system -- it makes little sense for me to have an M8 with one lens while $10k of Canon gear sits at home unused. The Leica does have an advantage in terms of physical size, but I figure that a 5D2 + 35/2 isn't so much bigger that it would be an impediment to carrying it around; I can then get a 35L for more serious shooting and also make better use of my existing collection of Canon glass. (Can you tell I like the 35mm focal length?)
As a former M6 TTL owner, I've actually been very pleased with the results from the M8. I use a 28 'cron for most of my shooting, which very much replicates the look of the 35 'cron on film. Have a look at my New York set if you're curious to see what this combination can do:
