Man, lots of great stuff, here, fun to look back on some of the amazing work posted over the past year, and some new ones.
Ben H - I've always had iceland high on my list, and your iceland gallery made it jump up a few spots! Fantastic work!
Anyways, it was a tough call, but since this is the image I was most excited about printing as soon as I got home from my big summer trip, I'm going to have to choose it..
My favorite because of the memories. My family camped at this spot for a week every summer in the 50s. Little Redfish Lake with the Sawtooth Mountains.
These are ALL excellent shots. Clearly a lot of people are getting out, seeing this beautiful world and trying to capture and interpret what they find in very unique ways....
One of these years, we should use Blurb or something and try to make a book with a lot of these shots in it.... I'd buy one !!
Great work guys, the work posted here is truly inspiring. I am new to the forums but I've been shooting for years, I've been really focussing on my landscape and scenic work as I just moved to the continental U.S. from Hawaii and I have a much bigger play ground to play in now. I am so looking forward to shooting out here as there are so many opportunities here.
In the last few months I've been able to get a bunch of stuff that I've been happy with. But the following picture is my favorite. Its a different view of Lower Yosemite Falls. I climbed up to the back and side edge of the falls. Originally I was in search of the rainbow that the falls is supposed to produce but at the time the lighting wasn't good enough for it, I hiked up to see if I could see it better. I ended up on the back side where its very wet, I carried my camera on tripod ready to shoot covered with my jacket. Once I was ready to shoot, I took the jacket off, framed as fast as I could and shot, the camera quickly got wet and I had to retreat a couple of times to wipe the camera down for another shot. Over all it was worth it though as I ended up with this. I was bracketing shots so this final image is and HDR created from one of the setups.

Some great shots here guys, I'll ahve to keep an eye on this thread!
This is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite. Hopefully I will see another rainbow like this some day. I chased this one for a while in the car and pulled over where I saw a goup of trees. A quick dash though a bog and I was in position just as the rainbow became incredible.
And yours, Alex, is without doubt one of my favorites from this thread. What an incredibly rare and beautiful moment.
Lots of fantastic shots posted. I like the one from Iceland, the one from Namibia, the one with the vultures and the one under the bridge best. Mine's not in the same league, but here it is anyway. cheers Vin
I waffled over a picture I made in the Ahwahnee meadow in February and this one.
For anyone who just has to know, this was shot with an M8 and a 50mm 'lux standing in a cornfield in Ohio. Ambient temperature was near zero F, so I didn't linger. On metallic paper, the print invites you to bundle up and walk down that lane to see what's back there.
Man! some impressive stuff on this thread. Makes me not want to post mine. This was taken along the Guadalupe River in Texas witht he camera sitting on a tree stump http://www.pbase.com/jpenney/image/104153984/large.jpg
