i have to keep away from this spot this winter...7 people have been washed into the ocean by rogue waves here...and 5 died..of which 3 were never found.
As always, the annual Best Of thread on FM is absolutely amazing.
Here is my humble contribution, taken in July. We stopped at a bridge over the Waikato River near Atiamuri (Just North of Taupo) for this vista, featuring the 531m(above sea level) "Poharuroa Rock".

Great shot, Henry! Got to love that wonderful silhouette, dramatic and beautiful sky and the sparse and telling foreground with ranch, trees and sheep (and is that the shepherd?).
I do not know about a "best shot" and one year is a long time... That one is very simple and unassuming and I keep liking it. Just like an old sweater or pants, nothing to talk about but just make you feel very comfortable.
