This has been a very good year to photograph on Nantucket. Hurricanes and storms in the area mostly missed us but sent some incredible light and clouds.
This photograph is called Light From a Passing Storm. The colors were amazing, the ocean was a deep emerald green, the clouds were dark blue and stark white and the sand became a deep gold color. The surf was fairly calm but the ocean gave me a little salute with this wave to complete the shot.
So disapointing - such terrible material :P Just kidding - Just about everything in here is truly amazing. I am humbled to post among such accomplished photographers.
If I had to choose one favorite, then I think this has to be it. Taken with my D200 and a 6 second exposure. Rehoboth Beach, Deleware (yes, we have beaches on the East Coast):
It was very difficult to decide...especially when I have a hard time comparing my best to some of the greats posted here. This is from Mirror Lake in Yosemite in July.
Not even close to the skill you guys have demonstrated, and barely a landscape. I haven't had a lot of time to shoot this year, which is a bummer, but I have had time at work to browse the forums and have been learning a lot. This thread is a great inspiration for the upcoming year!
