I couldn't decide between these two so I guess I'll have to post both!
The first was taken back in Feb. when all the local streams and lakes were totally frozen over, forcing the eagles to pretty much rely on mammalian prey.
Photographing these little Screech owls was really a treat, but getting them to all look at the camera at the same time proved to be quite the challenge!
Hi all -- here is my best image for 2008 (taken in Etosha National Park, Namibia, in the dark, no flash, manual focus, Canon 1DmkIII, 3.2s, f/4.0, ISO3200, 28mm). The second is a favorite from a recent trip to Alaska, with a little more color to brighten things up. Happy merry to all!!!

Here's a couple more of my best of the year. I forgot that I photographed the Harris hawk this year or it likey would have been my 1st submission. Alson throwing in a Monkeyland Crane for good measure
last time I posted a pic was in "the best of 2007" thread lol.
Anyways....this years ain't the prettiest, but how often do you get to see a bull bison attack a moose calf? Craziest thing I've ever witnessed in nature......

This was an image I really wanted to get this year. The lighting wasn't the best on him, so I had to brighten and introduced some noise. This one will have to do for this year. I'll try to get a better lit one next year!
Happy New Year to everyone and all the best to you and yours!
