My favourite of the year was my very first post on FM after being a long time lurker. This was very special to me because I was out looking to get a shot of a hummer in action and after much patience I witnessed this momma land on her nest, which incidently I didn't realize was there until she landed on it because they are so small and well camouflaged!

an excellent shot, and start SYNN... the zoo bit is not cheating, it is just not wildlife photography., just mention that your shots are taken in a captive place, and post away!

Nice images everyone. Haven't posted in a while but I thought I'd put one up to contribute to the site that got me hooked on this hobby and taught me a few things along the way. Favorite, not best, because this was one of the last images of a family of three GHOs I followed this past summer and was taken with stacked TCs (1.4x and 2x). Mostly happy that I got it to turn out as well as it did given the conditions but I also liked the perch and single visible talon.

This is a Southern Royal Albatross was taken in Jan 2008, on one of New Zealand's sub-antarctic islands - Campbell Island - 700kms off the southern tip of NZ in the southern ocean. Amazing experience...
