Socrate, very interesting bird. What is it?
The quality of the image (comp, colours, exp, PP) is nothing short of stunning.

Thanks Mirek. It's a Cattle Egret in its breeding plumage.
I remember your tiger shot, the lighting makes it. I love it now more than before. One of your best shots for sure.

Take 2

This may not be an overall favorite image of mine...the lighting was less than ideal, but it was a great experience shooting with the wolf pack

Are we lining up for seconds?

I have a few favorites but this one stands out to me for a few reasons. 1. This was when the pair of Eagles I've been following since this past March started working on the nest for the 2009 season. 2. The first time I've photographed one NOT perched in a Pine tree. 3. The blood on her neck from an earlier meal. (I actually thought she injured herself until she was photographed later on without the blood). 4. I was the only photographer to capture her perched in this tree on this day.

So much great shots, I almost feel unworthy to post . I've been doing scenics for years, I have only started doing wildlife in about the past month or so. Part of the problem was I lived in Hawaii, not much wild life here . But I just moved to California and there are a lot of places to go from there. So I am still learning how to shoot animals at this point. I had some great shots from the zoo but thats cheating, here is the best I've done in the Wild this year.

Hey Dave, your comment on the second greenie, "cuz I darn near built a relationship with him" funny how that happens sometimes. I really mean that, I do think I have had that relationship with some birds, it's strange but quite rewarding at that the same time. Or is it that "we" are just nuts?

I don't know that this would be my "best" for 2008, but it's a shot that I didn't think that I would have an opportunity to shoot. Not being able to travel much, I didn't think that I would ever get an opportunity for a decent Bald Eagle shot until this juvenile BE made a local appearance last month. I liked the tip-to-tip focus and the showing of the top side of the bird.

Thanks Tim,

Actually I shot the Elk in Northern Arizona. I've only seen deer so far in Northern California, been hoping to get close to a bear.
