p.1 #1 · FS: 6x6 Floor Plate- Not OverXposed.com

A while back I was looking for a simple low cost, low profile camera support. I liked the Overxposed.com plates but did not care for their $100+ pricing. I developed a 6"x6" floor plate that supports a Pro Size DSLR with a 300 2.8.

Here is a link to some quick shots of the plate: http://gallery.me.com/markwatkins4#100137&bgcolor=black&view=grid

The plate is CNC machined from a 1/4" 6160 aluminum plate and will accept any ball head with a standard 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread. The head is not included in this sale. The price of the 6x6 plate is just $58 shipped to your door via USPS First Class Mail. PM me for PayPal information or questions.

MADE IN THE USA!

Thanks,
Mark Watkins

Nicely machined plate. The tapped holes should be 3/8-16-UNC.

This plate is 1/4" thick, thus the 1/4-20 thread tap. A 1/4-20 to 3/8-16 adapter is included so either thread size will work.

1/4" seems a little thin, Is it possible to get it in 3/8" thick plate size?

1/4" 6061 aluminum plate is in my opinion an ideal choice for floor use. It is light weight and very strong. What is your planned application?

Actually, I was thinking of floor usage and some other undecided uses, perhaps 1/4" would suffice.I'm mulling this over.

I have used up to a 300 2.8 on these 6x6 plates with great results. Very solid, easy mounting and transport. In my opinion these plates are great to use for indoor basketball with either remote still or video cameras. The oval "finger holes" make it easy to grab and go. The purpose of the five 1/4" holes is to provide mounting choices depending on head, dslr and lens choices or to attach an anchor stake for outdoor remote applications.
