Well- truth be told, this cam is going to be backordered for a long while. Probably until february or March. Good luck, sorry to hear it's so difficult to deal with them.

I think we need to be carefull when comparing these cards and take the advertised speeds with a grain of salt. Although the 5d2 isn't listed yet, you can use other new cameras that may be similar in performance.
You also have to pick the proper camera for a comparison. for example, the 1Ds mkIII doesn't support UDMA, so the fastest cards won't perform the best with it. Also, its older processor, the Digix III, is slower than the newer Digix IV in getting the files out of the camera.
A better camera for this until the 5D mkII itself is evaluated by Rob, is the 50D, which does have both UDMA support, and the Digix IV. You will see how much faster each card is with this camera as opposed to the older 1Ds mkIII.
.Just got off the phone with Ritzcamera.com. My order of 9/21 is still backordered. No response to my two emails yesterday. Woman told me that she has no idea when they'll receive more cameras and couldn't tell me why people who had ordered 3 weeks after me were getting theirs. Also stated that she couldn't tell me where on the list I was. Finally, probably bs but ..., told me she would ask her supervisor to put me on the 'priority list'...... Seems this first order received shipping as they come is bs.
Well, if it's any consolation to you, it appears Adorama is shipping to those who ordered after me also (9/20), or else it's only kits thus far for Adorama. I'll enjoy it when I get it, I guess. The 5D still gives me pleasure.

Yo Mel, I'll buy all your extreme III's for a buck!
When a camera's spec says a burst rate of 13 images, at 3.9 shots per second, thats all based on internal camera buffers and has nothing to do with the CF card. Rob Galbraith's test only timed the amount of time to write to the card, which had nothing to do with the advertised total number of images in a burst, the frame rate or the cameras ability to write those images to internal memory.
So yeah, if you wanted to shoot 200 raw images at 10 frames per second, you'll need something faster than Ducati cards that can empty the buffer as fast as you shoot.

Hmm. They told me today that they didn't even have an ETA. At least not for the body.
FWIW ... I ordered from J&R the day they placed the product on their site. I was told over a month ago that I would be in the first shipment of kits. I had not heard anything from them until I recieved the email containing my shipment notification and tracking number earlier today.
I don't think your update info has any relevance to anyone else who may have ordered with J&R .... meaning they would either have gotten the same shipping notice that you had .... or nothing at all. You could have at least mentioned when you placed the order.

J&R shipped my 5D2 kit yesterday, arrives tomorrow ... just an update for others that ordered through J&R.

I placed my order on 9/23. My point was just to let people know that J&R received some 5D2 kits and has started to ship. Just that more and more dealers are receiving and shipping product.
FYI, my Amazon order from September 17 officially left Amazon today and I'll have it tomorrow. Those of you who ordered from Amazon about then *should* be receiving your shipping confirmation anytime now. At least that's if the world is a *fair* place.

Coresponding to this I placed an order for a body only from J&R, also on 9/23, and it shipped yesterday, 12/2.
