that's less than 2000 EUR?
sounds like some eosFUN for the value...
No. Its not :-( Canon cameras sold at 1400 $ in US are sold for about 1250 in Europe)- They suck us. even we are (or maybe because) their strongest market. But that sounds fine anyway. that $ 23xx something would mean about 2100-2200 .

The counter-point to that is, will it really be $1k-ish better than the D90 that was just released? The only thing I see from those specs is the high MP count. Time will tell, but speculating is fun I suppose.
D90 is an overpriced 450D competitor with Video. What are you talking about?
Hopefully it'll have zero. I mean , it's brand new. (I know you mean "how durable will the shutter be?", but since it'll be rated to at least 100,000, what's the big deal?)

How many shutter releases 5D MK II will have? What do you think?

That's kind of interesting, lower price point (even beyond the D700) but video, all the goodies and reasonable high-ISO (12,800) with mid-range FPS. If this comes to fruiition then the 2nd body they may announce would be in competition with the so called D3X (high MP monster, fast frame rate, pro features) rather than the D700. So they'd again establish themselves with the camera to bring full-frame to the masses (which, along with video would be interesting).

They expect a premium for that high mp, and they should get it. 21 mp makes a lot of sense. As I wrote earlier that gets them to ISO25600, based on 50D technology. The fps is more likely to be 4.5 than 5.
Calling it a 7D leaves the door open for better cameras in that range. It also makes it more likely that Canon will announce another camera at photokina.
Before you get on your bandwagon, try and be objective -- I'm looking at it purely from a marketing standpoint and particularly for users interested in the video angle. Most 5D purists wouldn't have had video on their wishlist over the last year or two to begin with -- merely solid features, maybe higher pixel count and high ISO.
Nikon puts out a 12MP cropped sensor with high ISO performance, ~5FPS, Live View etc. and HD video for ~$1000
Supposedly, you have this Canon model hitting the market at around $2000 for arguments sake with a full-frame sensor, high ISO performance, Live View, ~5FPS and video.
The interesting thing about it is that this camera is about $1-1.3K cheaper than the original 5D and is adding video -- not what I had expected from something directly following on from the original 5D. If that text looks like 21MP, then releasing a 21MP camera on top of all those features would be... interesting to say the least.

Beat me to it, but yes I tend to agree -- releasing a 21.1MP FF camera for $1999? that's pretty impressive.
I know, & I should let it go, but sometimes the certainty with which folks state their preferred set of "facts" about an as yet unreleased camera is too much for my fragile tolerance. It is after all thread entitled "rumors" so let's acknowledge that they are just that.

"They" don't do anything. You're government adds on 17% tax to everything.

Come on. We've had a lot of EOSFun thinking about the moon and new cameras it will illuminate. Admit it.
The big question for me now is this - is the camera going to be gradually illuminated between now and full moon or will it stay in the dark all this time .
And is it going to be illuminated by the moon or by the sun?
NO! They are not rumors, I won't let them be. It is a camera with 21.1.mp, clean ISO to 25600, 6.5 fps, shutter rated to 150K clicks, weather sealing, 51 point AF, and according to the Chinese website a 3.2 foot lcd. Pretty sweet!
Seriously though, it is a lot of fun speculating about what Canon has in the works, what the price will be and perhaps most importantly how will Canon's competitors respond. This is a great way for Canon to create a buzz about the new camera(s), amongst the people who will possibly be buying it, without spending a lot of money on advertising. So, come on Canon, release the details already. So when is Photokina, anyway?

keep having EOSFun. I think it's particularly funny when people get upset by EOSFun.
