Why don't Canon's product marketing READ THIS FORUM??! Make the Japan version with direct print button, cause in the real world everybody carefully inspects pictures on the computer before printing them!!!! arrrrrr
Seriously... Why don't these guys read forums like this one?
p.s.:i'm only saying this to see if they're actually reading and announcing the successor to the 5D has no such button but has been replaced for a multipurpose one.

For sure there is not going to be a 5D Mk II. The 5D product is history.
But there will be a new body and it will be called the 6D or 7D or 3D .... whatever!
Remember that the good will associated with the 5D name is worth money. There needs to be a reason to change the name that is worth more money.
Unless Canon claims the replacement has a pro body, I think the name stays. It seems most likely we're getting a full frame 50D with more than 15mp. To me that seems to be a 5D II.
I hate to throw cold water on the high mp fever, but one reason the 50D has 15mp could be that the 5D II has 16mp.

Mostly because forums like this one represent a very tiny, myopic, portion of their user base.

crivera,
just speculating........? What about AF and video mode? Really only 4fps?
Digic IV does a bit less than 100mps. So divide that up any way you want. Some company's might consider running the 5D processor at a higher clock rate. But that's probably crazy talk for Canon engineers.
I disagree with this. Of course they are interested, as the USA is the world's largest consumer market. Camera manufacturers are no different to car manufacturers, and there is a reason why Toyota is #1 .... because they make cars that Americans want. Feedback from Canon USA is therefore vital information for the Canon management in Tokyo.

But no one should believe that Canon Japan is particularly interested in what Canon USA thinks.

Feedback from Canon USA is why the prices have been as high as they are....
My biggest complaint with Canon may start to go away in the next month, i.e., the lack of value in their products.....
