You know, for all this build-up, it will be very funny if there is NO 5D successor. Suppose the moon reveal picture (with the bottom very hidden) is that way to mask the fact that new camera to be announced, is a series 1, a 1D4.
No, Canon will announce a new grip, that's why the bottom is hidden
Canon is smelling like a rose with the anticipation of the 5D "evolutionary" replacement and a new line of Zeiss ZE lenses! We will be back on track and at the top of the game! Yes, life is good!
I'm waiting until at least the Spring rebates to buy the 5DII. I usually let the price drop a little. I bought my current 5D a year after it was released for $2150 after double rebate. Not that any one cares but how else are we going to get this thread to 200 posts by Wednesday?
I'm waiting for the 5DII also... who knows who knows.
The thing is, has anyone actually considered that it may disappoint in a big way!? Canon's recent track record on bodies isn't great, and I'm expecting the worst. If we get something great, brilliant, but I'm not holding my breath. I think people should talk themselves down of the precipice in preparation for the great unknown. Just my 2p.
