Yes, thats me. No ale because it was half past nine in the morning. You might see ore think the cigarette ... Coffee is just infront of me. My favorite model came for a shooting and woke me up. No camera, yes. I do not own a backup body and she was doing the pic.

In this case Ken Rockwell doesn't know what he is talking about. He says the 50D has the same AF system as the 40D, then goes on to say that it has the same AF system as the 30D which is false (which in turn he says is the same AF as the 20D). He bases his statement on the fact that both bodies have 9 AF points.
Of course it's not the AF sistem like 20D,it has 9af points ,but the AF sistem it's very different,on the 20D ,only the center point is cross-type and on the50D,all 9 points are cross-type AF point with extra-sensitivity at 2.8 or greater for the center point AF!

Which is the same as the 40D. The Digic 4 may provide some improvement but that remains to be seen.
I think he mentioned that the AF basics did not change. The 40D AF is far over the 20Ds in accuracy and performence. And imo 50Ds will be so compared to 40D

I am not in the position to check all the facts, but my understanding from dpreview is that the autofocus system is different from the 20D.
But what really comes across, is a very angry, cynical tone on Rockwell's review. Turns me off; does not sound like he is objective.
Still awaiting full production copy review on dpreview, whose style/judgment I have greater respect for.
