And then the Rokkor 58/1.2 at 1.2. Almost the same spot

The colors are different in the OLY. I did a kodachrome treatment on that file.

Wonderful, I really like it!

I have to admit though that there's so many Rokkor shots being posted on this forum, that there's just a fair portion that do not show the nice side of the Rokkor signature, which has been shown before (mostly in the alternative image threads).

Some more (hopefully not "disturbing") Rokkor 58/1.2:

And here is a very good example of the difference between the Rokkor 58/1.2 wide open and the Rokkor at f2. Also, an example of why I feel the Rokkor is the best environmental portraiture lens ever produced for a FF SLR (you can see that in several of the images in my previous post as well, IMO).

f1.2:
http://www.cogitech.ca/photos/Rokkor/High_Park/img_1912.jpg
As you can see, the Noctilux-like "spiral/vortex" effect kicks in quite hard wide open. While people have mixed feelings about it, I love this effect.

f2:

But the best thing about the Rokkor is that this effect is completely gone by f2, which makes it an incredibly versatile lens. The bokeh smooths right out into cream, and the focal plane gets just scary sharp with serious micro-contrast kick.

The Noctilux-like "spiral/vortex" effect gives nice pop and really lifts the subject out of the frame.

Nice Paul!

Thanks. I actually missed focus on that wide-open shot just by a hair.

I nailed the focus on this one, wide open, but my daughter wasn't quite ready for the shot:

Agreed. Nice shots, and I personally love this 1.2 bokeh rendering style.

Some great shots of all kinds, Paul. I think the Rokkor renders abstract nature images beautifully as well. It is surprisingly perfect for the kind of images you posted in the first few shots.

Another couple in the same vein ---

I envy your ability to convert the one of the best, if not the best, two FD lenses.

BTW, it seems the Rokkor holds pretty good against those two.

The rokkor is my pick out of those three. Being a hard core Eos 85L fan that is a strong statement...

The Voigtlander 125/2.5 Macro-APO-Lanthar is seriously underrepresented here, so:
