And here is a very good example of the difference between the Rokkor 58/1.2 wide open and the Rokkor at f2. Also, an example of why I feel the Rokkor is the best environmental portraiture lens ever produced for a FF SLR (you can see that in several of the previous images as well, IMO).

As you can see, the Noctilux-like \"spiral/vortex\" effect kicks in quite hard wide open. While people have mixed feelings about it, I love this effect.

But the best thing about the Rokkor is that this effect is completely gone by f2, which makes it an incredibly versatile lens. The bokeh smooths right out into cream, and the focal plane gets just scary sharp with serious micro-contrast kick.
