Helimat - Really nice shots with this film. I've had ups and downs with Fomapan 400, usually downs when I've tried pushing it. Hard to say, but there have been many shots with your collapsible Summicron, where I have felt that you are getting a wider field of view than I do with my v4.

Thanks! I should compare it to my two other 50's, the Summilux Asph and the recently picked up Heliar 50/3.5.

I find these affordable films like Foma, Arista and Kentmere to be excellent. No issues whatsoever and I'll pick them over TriX and HP5 because I don't get 'better' results with those films. But I do save a lot using the cheapos - in my wallet not in quality!

Actually the only one I have an issue with is Foma 400, because it really seems to be an ISO 200 film. Rated at that then everything is fine. All the current Arista films are repackaged Fomas.

Now that you mention it, I do believe I rated it at 200. But I wasn't aware it was repackaged Foma... But I like it at any rate.

Here's few more from that roll with the same kit;

Did you pull process it then, or develop as if you'd shot it at box speed?

Not answering for helimat, but I rate it at 200, and develop it regularly at box speed i.e. no change. Works perfect.

Mamiya 645 with 35mm f/3.5 and 80mm f/2.8, Ilford PanF+ 50, Df96. I liked the film frame on the first shot.

I'm not sure about the 35mm. I've shot a bit with it on two rolls, and it has just massive field curvature. It's decent on the close edges, but distant edges are pretty awful, going to mush. It's really a shame, as I have always loved the approx. 90 degree angle of view...but I don't know if I can keep it if I can't figure out how to shoot with it. I'm thinking of returning it and finding a good copy of the 45mm f/2.8 N, which supposedly is pretty good, though there are one or two shots that are decent, and I'm trying to remember how I shot them. Perhaps I need to just shoot to the hard infinity stop any time I'm outside. Need to try to test that before I'm outside any option to return the lens.

When I first started shooting some film again, I started with 35mm, and found that color film in 35mm just left me feeling flat...it was too far below the quality I am used to with digital, and it just didn't work for me. B&W in 35mm works fine, though. However, now that I've put a few rolls of film through my 645 camera, I wanted to shoot a couple rolls of color film to see how it looked on 645, and holy cow, what a difference. The tonality, the detail..everything just looks so much better. Can see myself shooting a lot of color in the future. I've always liked Ektar, so I put a roll of Ektar through, as well as a roll of Gold 200 through my M645 over the past couple of days. Here are some shots from those...I'll post more tomorrow.
