Hmm. Both are not exactly known for reliability. Both are priced above what seems reasonable. Both are known for their own 'look'.
Perhaps the real question is.. does Holga make Leicas?
Hasselblad H1, Fuji Velvia, Z7 scan (the picture hanging on the wall not the overall scene!)
24x36 printed on aluminum, waiting for client. Just had to see how it looked out of the crate!
FINALLY got to get out and shoot some film today. First time in about 6 months. I decided to take the Fuji GW690 loaded with Ilford FP4+. Home developed in the new (to me) Cinestill DF96 Monobath (I bought the powder kit and mixed myself).
I had been using the FF No. 1 Monobath with great results, but decided to try Cinestill. DF96 is nearly odorless (smells a little like Epoxy glue, whereas the FF No. 1 has a strong ammonia smell) and I am very impressed with the result! Nearly zero grain and nice dense negatives. The Cinestill Monobath also promises that it will not over-develop. Any extra time will only clear the dyes and "fix" the negatives more thoroughly. Pretty neat!
All taken in DUMBO Brooklyn.

Ok, so for whatever reason Superia 400 has seen a dramatic price increase pretty much everywhere. Even Amazon is asking $20 for a 3 pack (wtf?!) and B and H is back-ordered on it. My CVS has it for $17. Was like $10 a few weeks ago. Yikes. Hopefully this is temporary and not a sign of things to come.
Anyone have experience with Kodak Pro Image 100? Seems to be pretty cheap and I usually try to buy a bunch of film all at once.
I haven't noticed price increases, but recently it seems that B&H has stopped selling (most) single rolls of 120. Need to buy a 5 pack now, even in store.
If it makes you feel better, I blew a roll of T-Max 120 the other day because I loaded it into the Hasselblad backwards (needs to run under the reels not over. Duh.).
Nothing like coming home all excited about a freshly shot roll and seeing clear film emerge from the tank... Argh. Live and learn.
