Thanks! That's in Reykjavik. It was really cloudy almost every day there and there were only a few moments each day when the sun shone through. The clouds look like they were painted.
Been shooting a bunch with the M6 and Zeiss C Biogon 35/2.8 lately - loving it! These are with the newest iteration of Superia 400, which I'm also finding that I like better than the old stuff. They did away with the "fourth color layer" and now it looks much more like a high speed C200 or a cooler, grainy-er Portra 160.
Developed w/ FPP c41 kit, scanned w/ V600, negativelabpro conversion.

Every post of yours gets me a little closer to buying that camera. Holy moly these are awesome.
I may end up listing my Minolta CLE and Pentax MX soon, if anyone is interested. They're collecting dust since the M6 is here, and I only have so much free time and shelf space for film stuff.

You wont regret it. However, I cant believe how much a GA645 costs these days. I bought one in virtually mint condition for $400. Looking at ebay, i see prices waaaay higher than that. Looks like the word got out.
Here' one from my newly acquired Mamiya 7. I know it's not the best composition but I wanted to test the camera for any problems. Why can't I get my scans to look as good as some of you? This is one of the better ones.

Worrrrrd. I've been eying a GS645W or S for YEARS now. Haven't taken the plunge yet, mostly because realistically I don't need to add another format when I already spend too much time and $ on 35mm. But dang. I could see just owning *one* 35mm and one MF camera. Hmph. Yeah, I gotta sell some stuff hahaha!

Take a look at the GW690ii @Campy posted on the b/s. If I had to keep ONE of my film cameras, it would be the GW690iii. (Even over the Hassy.) The 90/3.5 (@45mm f/1.5 35mm equivalent) lens is tack sharp and those 6x9 negatives are dreamy.
I want to convince you to get the camera before prices skyrocket even higher!
GA645 with Portra 160.
Somewhere in Iceland.
Handheld, from the inside of a tour van with the side sliding door open while it's raining!

The main thing that sketches me out - perhaps unnecessarily - about that camera vs the GS645S or 645W is that it's autofocus and requires electronics to function. That, and they always seem to be located in Japan, so add another layer of anxiety to deal with via overseas transactions. Things have been smooth lately (knock on wood) but I've had BAD luck with electronics crapping out. And I'm all set on camera paperweights, never mind $700+ paperweights. I don't mind the idea of a scale-focusing camera with a 28mm lens at all, hence leaning toward the W. The S has a rangefinder, which..... you never know there, either.
I'll sit on it a while longer, not like I have cash to burn right now anyway, If you have any pointers on how to find a good used one, or any particular things I should consider, please let me know.

Sounds like the Texas Leica aka Fuji GW690 series cameras are for you. (A camera so big Andre the Giant was overheard to have asked the salesman if they had anything smaller)

I've handled one of those in person. Amazing negatives, but ya. ENORMOUS.

Those GA645 scans are insanely sharp, what's your scanning process?
Thanks!
The GA645 is known for it's insanely sharp lens so that's one the the reasons why the photos look so gorgeous and sharp. The negatives are scanned using a Nortitsu scanner.
I don't do the scanning myself, I send it out to a lab because I don't want to mess with it. That's why I went film over digital (even though I do basic one minute touchup sometimes). When I go on vacation I'd take at most 2 rolls of film and either the GA645 or the GW690 III, so that's like what? Either 32 or 16 photos? I like doing this because before each shot I take I ask myself, "Would I hang this on my wall?" Also, if you only send in 2 rolls of film to get developed and scanned it's not that expensive.
I do make slight adjustments in LightRoom, usually just reduce the noise a tiny bit and up the sharpness by a bit and that's it!
Also, 99.99% of the shots you see that I take with the GA645 are with the camera (f16) on a tripod and with a mechanical shutter release because it makes me feel like a real photographer!
I like the whole setup of taking the photo and taking my time. The last shot I posted above was handheld because when I think of Iceland that's the scene I think of and I was disappointed that I haven't taken those kinds of photos on that trip so I just took it handeld and hoped for the best. That tour van was on the way to the airport to drop us off to go home so I got lucky because that's my favorite photo I've taken of Iceland.
