Some great work. I was in TN a little over a week ago, but was heading north. Wish I could have stopped by but had miles to cover. Will be posting a few from that trip soon

Thanks, guys. I recently swapped my Leica MM1 for an M6 and a film experiment. I tried this a few times before but this time decided to make a one year commitment. I shoot 99% B&W and home-process. So far I'm enjoying all aspects of the workflow. My output volume is signicantly lower, but that's OK. I have since also added an Olympus XA2 (photo below).
A shot from our trip to Glacier NP, June 2016. I've finally got a setup for digitizing 35mm that works well for me. Great effort to results ratio! Digitized with a Sony A7, Nikon 55mm f/3.5 Micro, Nikon ES-1, and a negative adapter from negative-solutions on eBay. Really happy with the results - wish I had something like this for 6x6 and 6x9 on 120!
Kind of off topic, but I am thinking of selling my Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED with a bunch of accessories. How much do you think it’s worth? I don’t shoot enough film to keep it on my desk, plus the film I am shooting is 120... Thoughts/interest?

Which process do you like better so far by looking at the end result - film/M6 or MM1?
That's a hard question to answer because they render so differently, at least the way I process my Tri-X. It's such a matter of personal taste. I prefer the aesthetic qualities of BW film. But I honestly don't think it matters much and that vision and picture content and execution far outweigh either.

My experience from digital and film, too. Different mediums - so I never really get when people elsewhere claim that the MM replaces all what you can do with B&W film. I believe it gets close, but it simply can't be the same.
Over on RFF, a very skilled TMAX 400 shooter once posted a photograph in the Monochrom thread and I could not distinguish it from the MM photos, which was the point of his post. So I think it depends on the film you use and how you process it. And also how you process your digital files.
There's probably no such thing as the so-called "film look." Or maybe the "digital look" either. The variations in both are endless. If it's a good photo, it's a good photo. The rest is personal aesthetic preference, IMO.
Having two stops worth of S/S helps!
I do confess I'm getting lazy as I had these lab developed.
Wasn't getting good results, too much grain, with T-400 in Rodinal
Still haven't mixed the Kodak chemistry

RB67, 90mm, Acros. Trying to decide if the RB67 is worth the upgrade from the ETRS. I know the negative is larger, but don't know that I have regular access to a scanner to take advantage. Also like hand holding, which doesn't bother me with the RB, but its a different beast...

Always loved the big Mamiya's. Tempting to get another "small" kit
