Hi Alex, appreciate the suggestion! I use an old Nikon 8000. Slow but effective. Really so many variables in this whole process, guess that's why I like it Have scanned enough prior roles from my lab though with good results that I think I can rule out the digital transition.
On this last role though I did notice as I got near finishing the scanning, the colors seemed to improve (modestly).
These frames would have been closest to the outside of tank during developing (guess I'm eluding to temp here).
The tank stays in a water bath except when agitating so I'm really pretty certain about the temp but...
Maybe this is isn't even appropriate for the thread, lemme know
Thanks Edward! I would love to try Silverfast, the Vuescan I use is really flaky, sometimes dropping settings and worse. I should at least update it. Generally I can get through a role though. Frankly I wish I could go back to Nikonscan. Maybe next step will be to have the lab scan a role. I do get results I'm reasonably happy with though from my own scanning of lab developed negatives.
Nice colors from the Portra you posted recently btw

It's s scanning issue. If you want lab-like results use silverfast software. What I do is scan in 16 bit and tweak in LR. Much more control than silverfast.
Thank you Mark! I used to use silverfast exclusively, but I now prefer the more natural look of Nikon Scan, slightly tweaked in ACR. I find silverfast results to look very lab-like, which is not always a good thing. You can get a free trial for 30 days. By the way, Nikon Scan works on Windows 7. I haven't tried it on more recent OS, but I read that it works with all Windows versions. The trick is not to install the scanner drivers (you will be given the choice during installation) so that the scanner can use the driver from either vuescan or silverfast.

I think you might have to process your film a little longer, the coolscan systems are pretty accurate from my experience. Maybe go into your lab and ask for some tips, im sure they'll be happy to help.
Nice greens Edward. I may have access to an old G4 Macbook that should run Nikonscan. Have to put it on my list of experiments.
Looks great Alex. Scanning with a "camera" seems to work very well, and fast too. I did a bunch this past winter with an M240 / 50 Lux with tubes combo and was very happy with the process.

I haven't done any slide scanning with the Nikon Coolscan V yet, so I gave it a try last night. I think it's much better for slides than my Pacific Imaging scanner.
Here's another, this time in color with my Contax G2 and the 21mm (the G2 is out for repair but I am anxious for its return!). Film was Fuji Superia 200
Wow! I have been away too long! Been really busy getting ready for a photo exhibit/show at the local art center. This has been a very personal project, a 10 year monograph of both digital and (yes!) film images (c-41 and b&w). If anyone is interested, here is the link http://tullahomaart.org/ Click under the exhibit tab for current. I will be showing 50 pieces that I have printed and matted, 24 13x19 prints and 24 8x12's with 2 framed. On top of getting all of this done, I just got back from a week in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Lots of developing being done! Shot portra, ektar, triX and delta 100 (and some digital too). Anyways...here are some fairly recent stuff.
delta 100 and kentmere 100, m5, vc 35/2.5, rodinal 1:50 I believe, pakon scan

drove my truck down this flooded abandoned train tunnel. Half mile of pitch black flooded tunnel. I was about to sh*t myself, but made it. Hit one hole and my front end went underwater but the truck kept going.
and next to us on the exit, the neighboring active(very!) train tunnel
