Thanks, Dan. I had several other B&W shots of El Capitan in mind but the skies did not cooperate...not a cloud in sight. I also twisted an ankle up in McKittrick Canyon looking for the fall colors that were not in evidence(locals said it's been too warm up there)so I had to cut my trip short but there's next year, I guess.
Kenny, Guadalupe Mtns NP is on our short list, maybe going in spring. I love far west TX, so remote and rugged. Yet to get to Fort Davis, always been south of it. Bucket list for me is a motorcycle trip looping through big bend np, big bend sp, Marfa and fort davis and back. One day.....
Thanks, Jon. I'm making plans to return and just do the Davis Mtns loop; there's decent lodging in the town of Fort Davis itself and the loop is very nice. 75 miles total so one could kill a day just doing that and grabbing opportune scenics.
Came across these while going through stuff in the studio yesterday. The first two were taken with the original version of the Brooks Veriwide camera, which was approximately 2-1/4 x 3-5/8 neg size. The Oregon beach is on Plus-X and the Seattle shot on Tri-X Professional. The Titus Canyon on an RZ with a 50mm lens converted from two Velvia scans. That Veriwide is the one camera I probably regret selling. I sold it to buy equipment to go to Art Center back in '82. Schneider Super Angulon 47mm. Great lens.

I have finished developing and scanning all images from my late summer holiday in Greece now. The first 6 images where taken with a Rolleiflex 2.8F - some with the closeup attachement. The remainder are taken with the Mamiya 6 and the 75/3.5 lens. Both cameras are such a pleasure to use and the lenses have an amazing signature.
The film was Ektar 100 scanned in with a Nikon Coolscan 9000 self developed with the Fuji Hunt Kit at 35'C for 5:30min.
Back behind the house at the construction site at dusk the other week. Nikon n90s, sigma 28-80/3.5-5.6 w/ yellow filter, kentmere 400, d76 1:1, pakon scan
1. Cadillac and Stearman, Olympic Peninsula, Washington, Sep 1998. Film is a 100 ASA film marked by Jessops (a UK photographic chain) that was probably made by Agfa.
2. Grizzlies on a ridge in Denali NP (one of my favorite places on earth). 9 Sep 1998. Film as before. The kit-zoom must have been used, as the resolution is pretty bad, but the shot gives great memories.
I'm sure that as long as the original is film no one cares, but you might want to try merging a couple of exposures to see if you can extend the shadows a bit.
