Tom, I see your shooting some Kodak. What brought about that desire and what are your thoughts? Nice work by the way.
I bought one roll, just to give it a try last time at the shop. This film scans ultra well so I'm going to buy a box next time out. I want to do that today but it has been raining non stop here in Shanghai for almost 2 weeks!!
Tom, great color images, especially the stair well view. BTW, send some of the rain to CA please!
Robert, very nice work with the EOS3. I see you have some digital stuff too!
I really like how those colors turned out with the Porta film, Tom. I may have to give a roll a go.
Developed some HP5 yesterday. Had a bear of a time getting it on the reel... I ended up shoving the cartridge into the tank, closing the lid, and went in search of another reel. I think the film itself has the issue as the second reel had issues loading also. Have any of you seen this? I am using the Patterson tanks and reels.

Do give Portra a try, especially 160. I never liked Portra 400, but may have to try one more time after seeing how good the 160 is.
Are you having problems with 120 size or 135 sized film? If 135, have you tried clipping off the corners of top of the film? I do that for 135 film and since I started doing that, I dont have many loading problems at all. I use Paterson tanks too. Also, if they are dirty, as these tanks get after time, that will cause slippage too. My tanks are picking up quite a lot of gelatin. They need a serious scrubbing.
Yes, 135 size film. The reel used is a new one, only 7 rolls or so. Used one of the old ones instead. I do clip the edges so it goes through easier. The issue happened in the last foot of film. Behaved like it was just a hair to wide.

I am having that problem with mine currently. I have quite a lot of patience so it just takes some time to get one on..one is super sticky and I was in fact about to go clean it out..to see if that helped it.
