All Mamiya 7II and Guatemala
I have finally process most of the E-6 film I shot in the past few months..such a tedious process! Here are some of my favorites so far, still 5 more rolls to scan.
I had trouble with this roll getting it on the reel..and unfortunately I ripped the film luckily only one image was ruined.. Public wash by Noah Wright, on Flickr

Nice stuff. It appears those lenses are as sharp as claimed

Thanks!
Yes, They are quite sharp even wide open, 65mm, and 43mm. It has to be one of my favorite systems to shoot just for the enjoyment. The 43mm is quite fun to shoot with then again I like that FOV. In fact I didn't have the external VF for it on that trip which kind of sucked..so lots of guessing with my fingers crossed.
Although I do have to do some sharpening mainly just the default settings on my V600 which has medium sharpening or so, even in a low sharpening setting it is still sharp.
Here's an example of the detail you can get from a Mamiya 7 and the 43mm lens. This was shot at f/11 on TMax100. An overall jpeg and a central 100% crop from a 4000 ppi drum scan.
Maybe so, but if you want to see what the system is capable of, you don't want the scanner to be the weak link. All I'm doing is showing just how great that one lens is, and it really is that good. If that inspires someone to want to buy a 7, then this will help show what can be achieved. And even though most people don't have their own drum scanners, most even casual photographers could find a way to afford a hundred bucks or so to spend on a really special image.
Hopefully in the next month or so, I'm going to buy some of this ultra fine grained film from Freestyle - and I can't right now think of the name of it, but it's very similar to the old discontinued Tech Pan from Kodak - shoot a few rolls with the Mamiya and see what an 8000 ppi scan looks like and maybe crank out a 40 x 50 inch print from my Epson to see a real world result. When I do, I'll be sure to post those results.
