I haven't shot any medium format in quite some time so I took a roll of portra400nc out of the freezer and loaded up the yashica mat LM. Here are a few from that roll.
Yashica Mat makes for a decent landscaper.

I am amazed the dynamic range of portra. I was shooting my 5dmkII along side of these and was bracketing. There was significant latitude in the scenes however the portra handled it fine without blowing any highlights and retaining shadow detail. My 5dmkII shots were 3 shot blends. I may have been able to manipulate a single exposure but it would have taken quite some manipulation in post. These are basically just scanned with a little wb adjustment and contrast added with minimal sharpening.
new portra 400 is what I would shoot if I shot color. in fact, the last roll of color I shot WAS portra 400. I shot it in the middle of the night and on the beach with an f2 lens, and it never missed a beat.

I plan on it, just working my way through the stockpile of NC I have
FINALLY have something to contribute here. These are just semi-crappy neg scans from the Epson V700, but I am just so happy to have spent a day in the darkroom developing again, I just wanted to share! Every time I soup my Mamiya negs, I really wonder why I bother with digital at all (the convenience is all, really). These are some shots from Yellowstone on Tri-X and while I think they are just rather dull landscape shots, I am just so happy with real film tones - here they are. I love film.
Katie, very nice work! I like especially the first and the two last shots. I can understand your enthusiasm - developing on your own is not just a "technical act", it's more like a magical, very emotional thing, at least in my opinion ;-)
Katie, I like them all and yes there is something special & fun about film
It has it challenges, but then so does having children
Been shooting an RZ67 for a few years & just got a 4x5.
Setting up a darkroom as I speak.
