Take it to the streets! People who have a moment are always curious about "old looking" cameras. Pflitz (sic) posted a great series with his RZ that probably would have been a lot trickier with a digital camera.
Yeah that's a good idea. I haven't done that in a long while and not at all with large format.

another on portra 160 with the rokkor 28/2. color is off because the lab processed out the fact that it was sunset and i tried to put it back in.
Don't mean to rag on your stuff but just wondering if the highlights are really gone in the clouds on the negative? Portra, for me, has been phenomenal in that regard.
The colors recently in yours have been outstanding, bummer they screwed it up.

corp don't let zaitz turn you into an LF dude.
SILVERMAX has an increased silver-content compared to regular films.
This enables him to built up twice as much DMAX and reproduce up to 14 zones in our dedicated SILVERMAX Developer.
This way SILVERMAX catches it all for you: brightest highlights and deepest shaddows.
He won't don't worry! No 4x5 on that Adox, bummer. Delta 3200 is also one I wish was sold in 4x5.

well, i don't know if the highlights are really gone on the negative but they're certainly gone in the scan. this was a pretty extreme shot into the sun at sunset. definitely called for grad filters. i did what i could to pull up shadows and rescue highlights in lightroom.
this seems like the only image out of 36 that i'm really unhappy with how it was processed, so i'm not too upset.

Whats it like to travel with Ratty ...are you having fun?
Pics are looking real good, you seem to be adjusting to it well.
I really like that 2nd pic at the top of the page (with the steps).
Ant.
Hey Ant,
I cant imagine a camera EASIER to travel with than the GA645. It's very small (thin actually) and quite light. Really amazing when you consider it is medium format! A real blast to shoot with, yes I am having a LOT of fun.

zaitz have you tried the 8x10 impossible? http://www.the-impossible-project.com/projects/8x10/
I haven't. I follow it a little on the large format forums but it's quite spendy, I think $19 per sheet. I didn't do much with my 4x5 instant Fuji back either and sold that pretty quickly.
Walked around town this weekend with my new (to me) yashica electro 35 gsn. A mint copy found at the local goodwill, just replaced the battery and light seals. Anyways, thought these would be appropriate for today. Shot on gold200.

rattymouse -- More great shots! The shots of your daughter confirm spot-on focusing. Looks like that camera (and daughter!) is a keeper.
Thank you. Yes, I am very happy with the focusing effort from the GA645 with these last few rolls of film. I can't say exactly what improved it but maybe i stepped a bit back from the minimum distance.
Here are a few from my sons upshernish (3rd bday/haircutting ceremony)

There a LOT more that I'd love to post but I don't want to clog up this thread. You can check out the rest here (with a bit of the story): https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1148082 or on my blog (with more of the story ).
Picked up a 1956 Minolta Autocord MXS for a great price and ran a roll of FP4 through it to test it out. Walked over to my town square with the old Gossen Luna Pro, only to find the batteries dead. Thankfully, I have an iphone app for a light meter (which actually worked really well!). It's no spot meter, but handled late afternoon light pretty darn good. Developed these in ID11 1+1 for 11 minutes, but lowered the temp to 60, which helped with the highlights I believe. I think I have been running my temps too high lately... Scanned myself on the V700.
Zalmyb, beautiful shots as usual. Just one remark, many of the photos look like severely underexposed and corrected during scanning. Did you check if your camera meter is accurate?
